- 5029 Nunney Castle: in filthy weather on a Paddington – Bristol charter, and on branch lines around Bristol.
- 3440 City Of Truro: on her test run, the 100 mph centenary special, a Shakespeare Express turn, and two positioning trains, from York to Tysley and from Tysley to Didcot.
- 4965 Rood Ashton Hall double-headed with City of Truro from Tysley to Didcot, then took the train back on its own.
- 60009 Union of South Africa: on a Brimingham – Paddington train, via High Wycombe.
- 34067 Tangmere worked a series of VSOE Pullman excursions to Oxford and Worcester.
- 34027 Taw Valley worked a Sunny South Special from Waterloo to Weymouth and back.
- 71000 Duke Of Gloucester on a Cathedrals Express working to Stratford-upon-Avon.
- 6024 King Edward I, also with a train to Stratford.
- In November and December, 3440 City Of Truro worked down to Plymouth and back, and hauled a post-Christmas tour around Stratford and Leamington Spa.
